作品紹介/Description
While visiting one of the Kyoto icons, I came across a spark in the history which could be, and probably was, overlooked by visitors. The “misplacement” of a practical object that looked like a creature from another world got my attention. I was witnessing a process which has stopped for a moment. While contemplating I enjoyed its dynamic stillness anchored on the staircase surrounded by red gates. That intimate moment was my motivation to seal it with a picture and keep it as a reference point for my experience.
In my fine arts practice, I research the interaction between (polar) opposite forces. I decided to come to Kyoto to further study the contrast between natural and urban environments, traditional and modern society, and modesty and expression.
